TIBCO Software Acquires Spotfire For $195 Million

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- TIBCO Software (Nasdaq: TIBX) announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire business intelligence software maker Spotfire, Inc. in an all cash transaction valued at $195 million.

TIBCO plans to integrate Spotfire's BI offerings into its real-time infrastructure to provide front-line decision makers with a clearer window into their operations.

Spotfire's software claims to create an interactive, visual approach to data analysis while increasing the processing speed to make the question and answer process faster than existing systems.
